Introduction

~ I am interested in photography because I both like to capture moments that have meaning to me, and like seeing the documentation of events provided by others. The way that photography is used to connect with the environment through photos of both current and historical events really resonates with me, especially in how it can convey urgency and connect emotionally with diverse audiences. Oftentimes I feel like photography is a sort of ‘call to action,’ and since photos are accessible to a wide group of people, not many miss that message. I think environmental change is extremely important because it impacts the lives of everyone, humans and other animals alike. Social change is important as well since it is the primary driving force of progress, and creating a real quality of life on a global scale. I have personal interest in making these changes because I believe that sustainability and environmental change are key in creating a green, livable future for our next generations. A stable climate, plentiful resources, and healthy ecosystems are essential in keeping Earth habitable, and further, thriving. ~
